Heaven:

Yesterday morning my little family went to Oakwood Baptist church Chickamauga GA: oakwoodbc.org And heard Pastor Darrell Henry preach an awesome message on “Heaven”

Well, As I sit here at 6:08 am after a long sleepless night due to a baby up and crying~ I’ve been thinking about heaven, my future home & one thing that is certain…Heaven will be my home! You could say I’m packed and ready to go!

I read a survey that said 77% of Americans believe in heaven, 76% say their chances of going to heaven are good or excellent…Mine is not a hope so or a maybe so it’s a grantee!

Ted Turner, once said “heaven is perfect, who would want to go to a place that is perfect for all of eternity…That would be just plan boring”  Well, from what I know about that fell a he aint got much to worry about…

Paul said in the book of Philippians 3:20 for our conversation is in heaven

When he spoke of Heaven he was talking about a place that was Special…It’s a place beyond human comprehension. The poet is at lost for words to describe it, the artist lacks the skills to depict it, and even the theologian lacks the ability to detail it… and in the words of Dickey V…”It’s gonna be awesome baby”

Billy Sunday said in one of his sermons “If we could get a real appreciation of what heaven is like, we would be so homesick the devil wouldn’t have a friend left on this earth”

The bible calls us “Christians” Strangers & Pilgrims in the world…We are in this world but we are not of it, Heaven is out Home..This is just a temporary stopping place!

One of my favorite quotes…from John Piper: “If I find in myself a desire to which nothing down here can compare I know the only probable explanation is I was made for another world”

I can’t wait for heaven!

I love the song that I’ve heard my whole life….

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come, no more clouds in the sky no more tears to dim the eye; all is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore what a day, glorious day that will be!

Even so come Lord Jesus I pray…

Are you ready to go to heaven?

Are you sure that heaven will be you home?

If you were to draw your last breath here in this earth where would you be?

If you’re not sure, shoot me an e-mail I’d love to talk with you and share with you a life changing message!

Happy “single awareness day”

Let me say this up front…I LOVE MY WIFE! she will always be my Amish Valentin!

Here are a few….”V”day videos for your viewing enjoyment..

Student Life: Cupid..

Lovestruck:

Come on almost to 2000 veiws!

DON”T QUIT…YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!

The little squirrel had almost made it. I don’t know what happened. I was barreling down the back road and I watched as a little squirrel ran curiously and quickly across the road in front of my car.

“Good, he made it! “ I thought.

But just before he stepped into the grass of freedom on the other side of the road, he heard my car approaching and panicked!

He began the “Crazy-get-outta-da-way-what-do-I-do-now” dance and decided to turn back to where he had come from! The unmistakeable “Thump-Thump” under my tires made me wince.

I thought to myself, “If he had only stayed straight he would have….” My thoughts trailed off as the Holy Spirit of God whispered to me, “Exactly. Stay straight…stay focused. If you turn back there is always the potential of danger.

To many times in life we seem to “panic” when trials arise…one of the questions I have asked myself over the years is, in what ever sistuation I’m in will I Thrive in this life or Just merely Survive?

When you keep your eyes on Him when sistuations arise in Life you will have a peace that passes all understanding!

Paul said no fear can haunt us, No foe can daunt us.

Can death separate us?

No it ushers us into His presence. Absent from the body present with the Lord.

Can life separate us from that Love?

No Jesus said I’m with you always even to the end of the world

Can things present separate us?

Of course not for He is the I Am! The one who dwells eternally in the present.

Then JC what about things to come?

No because He is the coming one.

Can Height or depth?

NO because He has plumbed the deepest depth for us and scaled the highest Height and is enthroned yonder on the highest pinnacle of glory.

No foe can daunt us no fear can haunt us!

Can any other creature come between us and God?

No for after all, a creature is but a creature and He who has sealed us with His love is the creator over all!

So then, whether it be things from experience or beings from the realm of spirits; whether it be matters of time or matters of space, NOTHING can separate us from Gods love. The Love that took the initiative in lifting us up from the miry clay will lift us to the street of heaven. What more could we ask for than that…that my friend is a reason to Thrive and not just Survive.

Freedom awaits you if you do not turn back.” A little squirrel’s death was my lesson in life.

A.W. Tozer:

A.W. Tozer:

“The days of the years of our lives are few, and swifter than a weaver’s shuttle.  Life is a short and fevered rehearsal for a concert we cannot stay to give.  Just when we appear to have attained some proficiency we are forced to lay our instruments down.  There is simply not time enough to think, to become, to perform what the constitution of our natures indicates we are capable of…How completely satisfying to turn from our limitations to a God who has none.  Eternal years lie in His heart.  For Him time does not pass, it remains; and those who are in Christ share with Him all the riches of limitless time and endless years.”

A.W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy. Quoted by Kenneth Boa, Conformed to His Image. (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2001), 62.

Christian One liners:

Please don’t judge me but last night I was watching the “Bachelor”  on ABC with my wife and I actually couldn’t believe it…But I was getting into it! ha ha

As she sat on the couch with our 1 month old son crying because “Alley” left the house to save her job..Kym my wife goes, I can’t believe she chose her Job over him..and I said, “he should drop a 1liner on her right there and that would have made her stay” to that my wife response  was “uh…you are so not sensitive enough”…HA HA!

Well, after 10 years in Student Ministry trust me I have heard every 1liner you could possibly think of…

Some good…Some bad…Some you understand why they are still single…others you wonder how they are still single.

This past summer I took a trip down to Panama City Beach FL with Oneighty Student Ministry..The very first night we played a little game called “so you think you’ve got a pick up line” it was nothing but fun!

At the end of this blog I’ll post 2 videos you can watch and see a few guys thinking they are getting the chance to sit in between the “Wilson sisters” for the whole night…But what they soon find out is something totally different!

Well, I’ve come up with some 1liners to help all you single guys out a little….

But first a few you don’t want to use:

1. Babe, my love for you is like diarrhea i just can’t keep it in anymore….Not good!

2. Babe, My love for you is like wetting your pants..everyone can see it but only you can feel it…Not good!

Here are a few “Christian One liners” for you to use….
